Decoration of short-bread biscuits using ultrasonic imprinting

Food products, such as shortbread biscuits, are decorated by imprinting, using a printing head (2b) which vibrates ultra-sonically. A number of imprinters (2), each carrying a printing head are positioned above a conveyor (6) carrying products (7) for marking. The imprinters are moved down to bring them into contact with a product, then up to allow the next item to move into position.
