A manufacturing method of a progressive multi-focal lens (70) which has a progressive surface area (71) comprising a distance portion (72) and a near portion (73), which have different refractive powers, and a progressive portion (74) positioned between them in which the refractive power changes progressively wherein the progressive surface which reflects customer information (1) for each individual user including at least one of the information concerning each individual user's eyes or lifestyle of the user is designed, and a lens design process (2) provides processing data for the progressive multi-focal lenses with the custom-made progressive surfaces. By so doing, it is possible to provide the most appropriate spectacle lenses for the users and, at the same time, it is possible to eliminate the process of storing lenses in a semi-finished state after being processed so that it is possible to provide lenses which are suited to users at a lower cost. <IMAGE>
