The yarn grip (7), to catch and hold a yarn at a bobbin winder when a full bobbin is removed and a fresh sleeve is to be wound, has a carrier arm (25) and a sliding yarn catch hook (32). The catch hook (32) is moved, in relation to the carrier arm (25), into a first position to grip the yarn (3). Through a linear sliding movement, the hook (32) moves into a second position at the carrier arm (25) to bring the caught yarn (3') into a clamped setting. The yarn presentation movement line (49) is a linear sliding action towards the bobbin sleeve axis.
