The child safety seat has a seat squab and backrest sections which may be pivotally connected or fixed together. The safety seat (4) can receive an insert (5) for a baby. the baby support insert has at least point contact with the backrest (14) and the fixed upholstery cushion of the child security seat. The child seat has openings (9) for through passage of the seat belt shoulder strap (15). It has a second section which has point contact on the seat section seat squab cushion of the child's security seat and has a through opening (11) for the hip belt.
