The support framework is for a vehicle seat and may allow longitudinal adjustment. There are two consoles or brackets (2,3) extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and made of one piece of metal. The ends of these brackets support transversely-extending metal tubes (6,7) which help to support longitudinal rails (4,5) on which the seat can slide. The ends of the tubes may lie outside the two brackets and may help to restrain lateral motion of the seat.
