A tachograph comprises a rotatable plate 22 provided with a rod 24 for engaging as required either a hole 26 in a record disc 21 or a tube 29 on which is grouped a bundle of discs the rod 24 being threaded to receive a nut 27 adapted to grip the disc 21 or lock the tube 29 against the plate 22. The plate 22 has four equispaced concentric projections 25 and the nut 27 has a complementary circular groove 28 so that a single disc 21 can be firmly gripped to turn with the plate 22. The tube 29 for a bundle of discs is made longer than the thickness of the bundle by at least the sum of the thicknesses of the nut 27 and one disc and the thickness of the flange 30 of the tube 29 which is attached to the end disc is made greater than the height of a projection 25 so that a bundle can be fixed on the rod 24 by tightening the nut 27 without the projections 25 penetrating any of the discs. The number of projections 25 may be varied and if placed at different radii complementary grooves must be provided in the nut 27. The plate 22 and clockwork for driving it are mounted in the lid of a housing, itself mounted on the dashboard of a vehicle and containing three styli with driving mechanism for recording, speed, distance and running and stopping times. |
