摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the deflection efficiency of an optical deflecting device and to reduce its size by forming the 1st waveguide type lens, the 1st SAW generating means, the 2nd waveguide type lens, and the 2nd SAW generating means on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:There are a grating lens, a geodesic lens, a Luneburg lens, a Fresnel lens, etc., as the waveguide lenses. Light projected on a light guide layer 12 from a light guide 16 is converged by the 1st waveguide type lens 21 firstly and deflected by operating on the 1st SAW mutually in its waist area where the light is parallel, so relatively high deflection efficiency is obtained. Light which travels straight without being deflected in the mutual operation area of the 1st SAW is further converged by the 2nd waveguide lens 22 and deflected by the 2nd SAW in its waist area. For the purpose, the light beams deflected by the 1st and the 2nd SAWs are converged to obtain output light with high intensity and a good SN ratio, and the output light needs not be amplified.
