<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily compress a PET bottle and realize effectively its recycling by a method wherein the inside of a used PET bottle or of this device is filled with steam and sealed and cooled. SOLUTION: Under the condition that a PET bottle 2 is installed in a PET bottle compressing device 1, a small amount of water is put in the PET bottle 2. The resultant assembly is heated with an electron range until the steam fills its interior. After that, heating is stopped and the assembly is cooled. Or, under the condition that a small amount of water is put within the device, its bottom surface is heated until the device and the PET bottle are filled with steam and then the device and the PET bottle are cooled. On the PET bottle compressing device 1, the valve 4 of a back-flow valve is provided. Thus, the volume of the bottle can be reduced or the bottle can be compressed by taking advantage of the softening of a plastic. As a result, the effective recovery of PET bottles and the effective reduction of their cost of transport can be resulted.</p> |
