PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new variant type lipase protein utilizable for improvement of oils and fats and production of raw materials for medicines and optically active group and capable of producing in industrially satisfiable amount by including a specific amino acid sequence. SOLUTION: This new protein comprises a lipase protein containing 1st to 617th amino acid sequence or a protein having one or more variations selected from substitution, loss, insertion and addition of one or several amino acid residues in the amino acid sequence and containing a sequence having >=70% homology to the above amino acid sequence and having activity which is substantially equal to the lipase protein. Furthermore, the lipase protein is obtained by culturing a transformant of Escherichia coli, etc., obtained by integrating DNA molecule coding the protein into a vector plasmid, and a racemic type 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)glycidic acid methyl ester is preferably subjected to optical resolution by using the protein and soil separation bacterium providing DNA sequence coding the lipase protein is deposited as FERM P-15915. |
