PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare a bagel by providing a steam generation means for generating steam inside an oven chamber and providing at least a cooking process for executing a steaming processing before a baking process. SOLUTION: In the case of preparing the bagel in this bread baking machine, the material of the bagel is fed into a bread case, a 'bagel course' is selected by a menu key and a start key is inputted. In the bagel course, after performing a kneading process, primary fermentation and gas discharge in the bread case, a buzzer is sounded, an operation is tentatively stopped and a user takes out bagel dough and molds it into doughnut shapes. Then, after they are arranged on a cooking base 30 for steaming and returned to the inside of the oven chamber, molding fermentation-the steaming process-the baking process are executed and the bagel is finished. The cooking base 30 for steaming is constituted of a water storage tray 31 for storing water, a supporting rod 32 erected at the center and a bagel mounting plate 33 horizontally attached to the supporting rod 32 and the water storage tray 31 is mounted on a heater 13.
