A cam follower mounting assembly includes a mounting member, such as a rotary indexer output mounting plate (12), having first and second cam follower mounting surfaces (12a,12b) and a bore (30) between the mounting surfaces, and a cam follower (50) mounted on the mounting member wherein the cam follower (50) includes a mounting shaft (52) received in the bore (30) of the mounting member and having a cam follower member (56) rotatably disposed on a first shaft end (54) proximate the first cam follower mounting surface (12a) in a manner to be engaged by a cooperating cam track (16a,16b) and a second shaft end (70) proximate the second cam follower mounting surface (12b). The second end (70) of the mounting shaft (52) includes a threaded bore (80) extending from an second end surface (76) substantially coaxial with the longitudinal axis (A) of the mounting shaft. The mounting assembly further comprises a screw (90) having an enlarged head (92) and a threaded shaft (94) threadably received in the threaded bore (80) of the cam follower mounting shaft (52) and a washer (100) disposed between the enlarged head (92) of screw (90) and the second cam follower mounting surface (76). <IMAGE> |
