PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a recording image with high resolution by preventing ink from being transferred between nozzles and mixed with diluting liquid when print operation is stopped, thereby reproducing gray scale accurately. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a first nozzle 34 for jetting diluting liquid, and a second nozzle 36 for jetting ink being opened contiguously each other, and a print head for jetting the ink and the diluting liquid while mixing. A groove 53 is made from the opening of second nozzle 36 to the opening of first nozzle 34 of the print head and the width d of the groove 53 is set, at least partially, at 2μm or less. The groove 53 may be replaced by a hydrophilically machined part or unmachined part. When an unmachined part is employed, the remaining part is subjected to water repellent machining. |
