PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the color filter for a reflection type liquid crystal disc device which is suitable for an image display of high definition nearly without changing conventional manufacturing conditions by allowing each pixel to have both a colored part and a white transparent part at a desired area ratio. SOLUTION: A light shield part 2 is formed of a material which has a low light reflection factor on its surface. The light shield part 2 is generally in a grating shape and the rectangular opening part 3 surrounded with the grating shape is one pixel. At the opening part 3 corresponding to each pixel, a filter colored part 4 that selectively transmits visible light is partially formed. The partial formation means that the part where the filter colored part 4 is not provided is the white transparent part 5. At the rectangular opening part 3, the ratio of the width (a) of the filter colored part 4 and the width (b) of the white transparent part 5 is the area ratio of the colored part 4 and white transparent part 5 in one pixel as it is. |
