摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the charging performance of a battery by holding the battery voltage as high level as possible within an allowable range from an overcharging preventive point of view. SOLUTION: When the average value of the battery voltage in a given period of time (3-30 minutes) including a given increase and decrease in the number of rotations of an engine exceeds a given level V1 (step 108), the adjustment voltage is lowered (step 138) to lower the battery voltage. On the other hand, when the average value of the battery voltage comes below the predetermined level V2 (step 112), the adjustment voltage is raised (step 116) to raise the battery voltage. Since the adjustment voltage is switched, based on the average value of the battery voltage or the integrated detected value of the battery voltage, the average value of the battery voltage does not change so frequently along with a short-time fluctuation (increase and decrease) of the battery voltage caused by the change in the number of rotations of the engine as in the conventional method, thereby stably keeping the average value near a specified level.</p>
