The device is a mechanical adjuster e.g. for the transverse adjustment of a separating plate in a suspension distributor and comprises assembly of components transmitting force. One (2) introduces the force, another (3) delivers it. Intervening components (4) transmit it. A further component (1) guides the force. In addition a flexible tensile element (not shown) interconnects the input (2) and output (3) components.
