PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink fountain device capable of rapidly and easily removing the residual ink in an ink fountain. SOLUTION: A long protective film 15 drawn out of a supply roll 16 is passed through an ink fountain to cover an ink fountain bottom surface 7a and an ink fountain side surface 10. At a time of the replacement of ink, an ink fountain main body 7 and the ink fountain side plate 10 are retracted to a lower retraction position and, in this state, the protective film 15 is taken up to move a part to which residual ink is bonded to the outside of the ink fountain and a new part is positioned on the inner surface of the ink fountain and, in parallel to this operation, notches forming the flap parts suitable for covering the ink fountain side surface are provided to both side edge parts of the protective film by the film processing means 40 arranged on the upstream side of the ink fountain and, thereafter, the ink fountain main body 7 and the ink fountain side plate 10 are raised to the original operation position to raise the flap parts by the ink fountain side plate to set the flap parts to the position well covering the inner surface of the ink fountain. |
