WATER-SOLUBLE RESIN COMPOSITION AND COATING FILM MADE BY USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrodeposition coating resin composition which gives a coating film improved in the marring resistance and blocking resistance by blending a resin component consisting of an acrylic copolymer and an amino resin with a fluorocarbon surfactant undergoing segregation into a surface. SOLUTION: This resin composition consists of an acrylic copolymer and an amino resin and contains a fluorocarbon surfactant undergoing segregation into a surface. The content of the surfactant is preferably 0.05-5.0 wt.% based on the resin component of the composition. An example of the surfactant used comprises a compound represented by the formula C8 F17 -SO2 N-R (R is an acrylic ester oligomer) and having a molecular weight of 10,000 to 20,000. The segregated surfactant is present in the surface part with a thickness accounting for at most 20% of the total thickness of the electrodeposition coating film made by using the resin composition.
