PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable both accompanying of the filtration of only one blood component, and accompanying of the filtration of the whole blood components in a device and method for separating blood into the blood components. SOLUTION: A liquid-collecting vessel 1 is connected to the first vessel 2 through a piping paths 9 and 15 including a leukocyte filter 11. A by-path piping 18 is installed between the liquid-collecting vessel 1 and the first vessel 2 to form a fluid connection by by-passing the filter 11. The first vessel 2 is connected to an adding medium vessel 4 including an adding medium for preserving the blood components through an adding medium pipe 23. A blood of a blood donor collected in the blood-collecting vessel 1 and containing the whole components is transported to the first vessel 2 through the by-pass piping 18. The blood containing the whole components is separated into erythrocyte layer, and a mixed layer comprising plasma and platelet by centrifugation. The mixed layer comprising the plasma and the platelet is transported from the first vessel 2 to the first satellite vessel 3. The erythrocyte resuspended by the adding medium is transported from the first vessel 2 through the piping paths 9 and 15 to the liquid-collecting vessel 1 including the leukocyte filter 11. |
