PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a S/C ratio (the ratio of steam amount to carbon amount in fuel) in a reformer and increase a hydrogen utilization factor for a fuel cell, while preventing the poisoning of the fuel cell, for improving generating efficiency. SOLUTION: This generator has a reformer 12 in which unburn material in exhaust gas 7 is burned to form a heat source and material is reformed into reformed gas containing hydrogen, a shift converter 14 to reduce CO concentration in the reformed gas with shift reaction to form anode gas 6 for a fuel cell, the fuel cell 16 for generation with anode gas containing hydrogen and cathode gas 9 containing oxygen and a steam spray 18 to spray steam into the reformed gas 5b. An S/C ratio in the reformer 12 is decreased for operation and steam is sprayed into the reformed gas to reduce CO concentration at the exit of the shift converter. A material utilization factor for the fuel cell is increased. |
