PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the wiping area of a wiper device. SOLUTION: A wiper arm 3 is displaced through expansion or contraction in the longitudinal direction of a first link 4 as the first link 4 oscillates, and a relative angleθ, which is the angle formed by the wiper arm 3 and the first link 4, is varied as the first link 4 oscillates, so that the relative angleθis at its minimum (θ=0) when the wiper arm 3 is displaced most toward the other end of the first link 4. Thus, a track L1 which the end of the wiper blade 2 describes can be moved roughly along a right-end side 1b from a lower inverted position to a corner 1a, and roughly along an upper-end side 1c from the corner 1a to an upper inverted position, whereby a wiping area can be increased.
