PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide talc capable of remarkably improving the mechanical strength of an olefin polymer a composition containing the talc and a polypropylene polymer. SOLUTION: (I) Talc satisfies the followings (1)-(4). (1) The average particle diameter is <=3.0μm, (2) The sum of the volume of particles having <=1.0μm particle diameter, which is calculated from the particle diameter is >=5% of the total volume of the total particles. (3) The sum of the volume of particles having >=3.0μm particle diameter, which is calculated from the particle diameter is >=10% of the total volume of the total particles. (4) The specific surface area is >=80,000 cm<2> /g. (II) The propylene polymer containing the talc consists of 95-70 wt.% propylene polymer, 0-25 wt.% thermoplastic elastomer and 5-25 wt.% of the talc satisfying the followings (1)-(4). (1) The average particle diameter is <=3.0μm. (2) The sum of the volume of particles having <=1.0μm particle diameter, which is calculated from the particle diameter is >=5% of the total volume of the total particles. (3) The sum of the volume of particles having >=3.0μm particle diameter, which is calculated from the particle diameter is >=10% or the total of the total particles. |
