This publication describes an elk warning method based on rows 3 of reflective structures along both sides of the road 2 and light reflected from these rows of structures to the driver. The rows of structures can be formed from, for example, roughly 3 m high reflective posts or reflective fencing. The posts, for example, are positioned close to one another, and if an elk 4, for example, is between the vehicle 1 and the row 3 of posts, light reflected from the row of posts shows the profile of the elk 4. The method is intended to help the driver notice earlier all kinds of obstacle next to or on the road. As an elk warning method, it still allows the elks to follow their natural routes. A great advantage is also that the rows of structures used in the method are technically simple and therefore inexpensive both to construct and to maintain. This publication also describes structures which can be used to construct rows of reflective structures according to the method, posts 7, steps 8, hanging posts 9 and raised stakes 10. <IMAGE> |
