<p>An apparatus for dispensing an air modifying agent, such as an air freshening, fragrancing and/or deodorising agent, into surrounding air comprises a receptacle (1) holding the air modifying agent entrained in a liquid carrier (2); wick means (5) passing through a neck (4) of the receptacle and having a first portion (5a) within the receptacle interior and a second, substantially rigid, portion (5b) which can be raised up through the neck (4) of the receptacle for use, whereby the wick means (5) can extend through the neck (4) in use to contact the surrounding air at its portion (5b) and thereby allow the air modifying agent entrained in the liquid carrier (2) to pass up the wick means (5) from the first (5a) to the second (5b) portion thereof and evaporate into the surrounding air (6) from a surface (7) of the second portion (5b); a pump and nozzle assembly (15) carried on an end cap (13) provided on the wick means (5) exterior to the receptacle (1), the cap serving to cover the neck (4) of the receptacle when the apparatus is not in use; and a dip tube (16) having a first end connected to the pump and nozzle assembly (15) and a second end immersed in the liquid carrier for conveying the air modifying agent entrained in the liquid carrier to the nozzle means for ejection into the surrounding air through the nozzle means.</p> |
