Water sprinkler nozzle for extinguishing fire

The nozzle is used for forming a mist of fine water droplets. It is designed to be actuated when there is a fire. It has a chamber (1) containing a glass capsule (10), which is held between a setting screw (11) and a valve element (8) which has a seal, esp an O-ring (13), bearing against a flat face of a nozzle housing (2). When the nozzle is heated, the alcohol boils, bursts the glass capsule, and releases the valve element, allowing water to flow from the chamber to the atomiser. This consists of a body (5) with a spiral groove, accommodated in a bore in the nozzle housing.
