PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic conductive resin compsn. which gives a masterbatch capable of maintaining its shape without fail even when the content of a conductive filler is high by compounding a specific polyethylene resin obtd. by the copolymn. in the presence of a metallocene compd. contg. a tetravalent transition metal compd. as a polymn. catalyst with a metal filler and/or a carbon black. SOLUTION: Ethylene and otherα-olefins are copolymerized in the presence of a polymn. catalyst comprising 1mol of a metallocene compd. contg. a tetravalent transition metal (e.g. titanium, zirconium, or nickel) and 100,000-1,000,000mol of a cocatalyst (e.g. methylaluminoxane or a boron compd.) under normal pressure to 100kg/cm<2> at -10 deg.C to 300 deg.C, thus giving a polyethylene resin having a density of 0.84-0.90g/cm<3> , a mol.wt. distribution of 1.5-3.5, and a melt flow rate (190 deg.C, 2.16kgf-load) of 0.1-20g/10min. Thus obtd. resin in an amt. of 100 pts.wt. is compounded with 50-1,000 pts.wt. conductive filler comprising a metal filler and/or a carbon black.
