A gas cylinder label, esp for an LPG cylinder with a tap (3), consists of a plate (1) of a semi-rigid plastic material, having an aperture slightly greater than the threaded section (32) of the tap and connected to the edge of the label by a slot of slightly smaller width. The label is supplied from a magazine in the form of a tube (4) with a inner guide (42, 43) having more or less the same section as the aperture and slot. The guide is open at the top for loading the magazine with labels and at the bottom for dispensing them one at a time for delivery to the cylinder by a slider (53, 54) operated by a motor (55).
