The inner telescopic tube (5) has a rotatable angled guide face (15). The other end of the strut has a curved support rod (1) which extends so that it locates elastically in a wall connection on the outer telescopic tube. An inclined guide casing (3) has a central hole (12), into which the support rod (1) moves by axial displacement via the angled face (15) into a position within casing. Where the telescope is used to support a folding table, a slight raising of the table top allows the inner tube to be turned. After a 180 degree turn, the telescope unlocks and is pushed together with the lowering of the plate (20).
