RELEASE OF HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELLS FROM AFFINITY MATRICES

The present invention discloses a method for releasing animal cells bound to antibodies specific for the MY10 epitope which comprises treating the antibody bound animal cells with chymopapain and separating the viable cells from said antibodies. The invention also provides a method for the purification of lymphohematopoietic precursor cells from a population of human CD34-positive cells. Both of these methods are important for the positive selection of normal marrow stem cells for treatment of bone marrow grafts required for bone marrow transplantation in diseases such as aplastic anemia and leukaemia.
