PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple backfilling method in which a pipe can be stabilized even when the ground is displaced by taking into account a displacement of the ground due to an earthquake when the pipe is buried so that damage to the buried pipe can be reduced. SOLUTION: A shock absorbing layer 12 is formed in a trench at a horizontal position in a direction normal to the axis of a pipe. The layer 12 has a compressive rigidity smaller than that of the ground 1 and has a vertical thickness equal to or less than the diameter of a buried pipe 3, and hence even when the ground is displaced in the transverse direction of a buried pipe 3, the layer 12 is compressed and deformed to absorb the displacement of the ground and even when the layer is compressed to its limit so that the layer loses its displacement absorbing ability and is rigidified, an influence on the pipe 3 can be maintained as much as the influence on an ordinary backfilling material 2 only.
|
