PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having a hypersexual action (tonic aphrodisiac action) based on a mild anti-stress action by including the hot water extract of the culture mycelia of Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The mycelia of Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. [preferably Cordyceps sinensis MF-20008 (FERM BP-5149)] is sufficiently proliferated by a liquid culture method or by a solid culture method using a culture medium comprising a malt extract, a yeast extract, peptone, potato broth, glucose, vitamins, amino acids, nucleic acids, proteins and, if necessary, the ingredients of a host such as an insect at a pH of 4-7 at a culture temperature of 15-32 deg.C at a stirring rate of 50-500rpm for 3-10 days. When a large amount of the mycelia are cultured, an aeration stirring liquid culture is preferably carried out. After the culture, the cultured mycelia are extracted with 60-100 deg.C hot water, and the extraction residues are removed. The extract is used as an active ingredient for the objective composition as such or after treated. |
