A resilient platform E is anchored to a frame A, e.g. a chair frame, by means of a rod or wire C having its ends engaged in axially aligned slots B formed in two angularly disposed frame elements A. The rod C may be moulded into the platform E. The closed ends of the slots B may communicate with holes (F, Fig. 2) in the frame extending perpendicularly to the slots B, the holes F serving to receive the bent ends of the rod B.
