<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a head lamp small and eliminate influence on a luminous intensity distribution pattern in a low beam by forming a recessed part in step so as to face to the inside of a reflector in shading region where incident light is cut by a bulb shade in a lower side part of the reflector surrounding a discharge lamp bulb, and arranging a lighting control igniter in the recessed part. SOLUTION: A discharge lamp bulb 7 is fixed to a bulb fixing bracket 6 in the center of the back part of a reflector 5 arranged within a resin lamp housing 1, through a fixed connector 8. A recessed part 10 is formed in the shading region located in the lower side of a reflector 5 in which incident light is cut by a bulb shade 9 fixed to the reflector 5 at the rear edge. An igniter 11 is arranged in the recessed part 10 having an upper wall 10a of a step whose upper surface is flat and a front wall 10b inclined downward. Thereby, enlargement of the lower side of the lamp housing 1 is made unnecessary, and since the recessed part 10 is in the shading region, influence on luminous intensity distribution pattern is eliminated.</p> |
