Preparation of precipitated polyamide powders with a narrow grain size distribution and low porosity

A method for the production of precipitated polyamide powder with narrow particle size distribution and low porosity comprises: (a) dissolving a (co)polyamide of lactams, omega -aminocarboxylic acids and/or diamines and dicarboxylic acids, each with NOTLESS 10 C, in a 1-3C aliphatic alcohol; (b) cooling to the seed formation temperature without precipitation; (c) cooling again until the solution is supersaturated; and (d) drying the suspension after precipitation.
