On an inner peripheral surface (11a) of a generally cylindrical member (11), three convex strips (12A, 12B and 12C) are provided to helically extend continuously and at an equal interval from one end to the other end. The cylindrical member is used as a sleeve for holding optical fibre ferrules in alignment. The helical strips (12A,12B,12C) avoid dust problems and increase the alignment stability by increasing the resistance to ferrule withdrawal. In another embodiment strips (22A,22B,22C) extending inwardly and inclined from the radial direction elastically hold the ferrules. A split sleeve version (30) is also claimed. <IMAGE> |
