PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for offset printing by an ink jet process by which it is possible to make appropriate the conditions for a direct printing side, i.e., an original plane plate or a pad side and eliminate defects proper to these sides. SOLUTION: Conditions for the material of a matter to be printed which is directly printed by an ink jet process and its surface structure, mainly surface roughness conditions are set, and appropriate wetting properties and fixing conditions are given to enable the offset printing by the ink jet process. The material is one selected from among rubber, synthetic resin, metal and coated paper. The surface roughness Hmax is about 1-5μm and the preferable wetting properties (surface energy) is about 50-100dyn/cm for rubber and synthetic resin. |
