<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce clean energy with the use of a water turbine provided with a submerged outflow device. SOLUTION: A water turbine 1 and a water turbine shaft 2 are arranged by means of water turbine bearings between both sidewalls of an irrigation canal or both side drain boards 10. The turbine shaft 2 is submerged in the canal and is connected by means of a transmission chain 6 to a transmission shaft 7 arranged above the canal to transmit its shaft power to the transmission shaft 7. A weir comprising a water flow cutoff board 9 provided at its lower end with a water flow press board 8 is arranged in the upstream of the turbine 1 to cause a submerged outflow of fluid in part of the canal. That outflow gives a press to blade plates 4 on the turbine 1 to rotate the turbine 1, which accordingly produces water turbine energy. For the production of its maximum output in a canal, the water turbine 1 having the submerged outflow device is installed in the canal at the location to reduce the submerged outflow section to the extend of damming up a water flow or at the location to minimize the submerged outflow section. The vertically moving function of the outflow device is fully used to selectively aim at coping with water level fluctuations in the canal or at necessary power.</p> |
