PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating agent excellent sealing property, film-forming property and transparency, capable of imparting good weather resistance, harmful electromagnetic wave-shielding property, chemical resistance, antistatic property and insect-proofing property to substrates and useful for building substrates, etc., by including a specific titanium oxide. SOLUTION: This coating agent comprises an amorphous type titanium oxide such as amorphous type titanium peroxide sol [e.g. transparent yellow liquid obtained by adding a basic compound to an aqueous solution of titanium salt, washing and separating the resultant pale-bluish white and amorphous titanium hydroxide Ti(OH)4 , namely orthotitanic acid H4 TiO4 and treating the separated compound with hydrogen peroxide solution and having pH6.0-7.0, 8-20nm particle diameter and normally 1.4-1.6wt.% sol concentration]. |
