PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a profitable method for producing a metallized phosphor screen by laminating a dry film to a substrate, forming a phosphor layer on the film, making the surface temporarily flat, and forming a metallizing layer on the surface. SOLUTION: A dry film 2 with a thickness of about 10-25μm is laminated to a substrate 1 with a laminating or fixing machine. A phosphor layer 3 is formed on the dry film 2 by screen printing or powder scattering. The resultant laminate is subjected to the first heat treatment at 100-200 deg.C for about 10-30min to cause the dry film 22 to be fluidized and the phosphor layer 3 to be buried in the dry film 22, thus making the upper surface 10 flat. A metallizing layer 31 with a thickness of about 1,500-2,500Åis formed on the flat surface 10. The resultant product is subjected to the second heat treatment in air at about 450-550 deg.C for 60-180min to remove the dry film to thereby bring the substrate 1 into contact with the phosphor layer 3 and to bring the phosphor layer 3 into contact with the metal layer 31.
