PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber-reinforced polyolefin resin foam that is superior in compression strength in a thickness direction and impact resistance and which can be used for various types of structural materials, civil engineering and construction materials and impact-absorbing materials. SOLUTION: Reinforcing fibers 7 contained in a fiber-reinforced polyolefin resin foam 5 are such that (1) they have an average fiber length ranging from 0.5 to 5mm, that (2) they are contained in the foam 5 at a ratio of 1 to 50wt.%, and that (3) 75 to 100% of the reinforcing fibers have an included angle in the range of 0 to 45 degrees that is formed at an intersection between an axis parallel to a direction normal to upper and lower surfaces of the foam 5 that are parallel to each other and the center line of the reinforcing fiber 7. Moreover, a cell 6 of these fiber-reinforced polyolefin resin foam 5 has an oval shape in which the diameter of a cell 6 in a thickness direction of the foam 5 is made larger than the diameter of a cell 6 in a direction normal to the thickness direction of the foam 5. |
