FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in erection of low-storied cottages, country houses, etc. Wall blocks are made with hollows in the form of external passage passing through all side faces over perimeter, and also internal hollow. In erection, blocks are placed in several rows with displacement to half of their length. Blocks are interconnected to each other by binding mortar. Wall blocks are made of gypsum, their internal hollow is through-type, external passage is made in all side faces and is adjacent to internal hollow at depth which is equal to half of width of internal hollow. Rows of blocks are placed by dry method with creation of vertical hollows by means of passages provided in side faces of adjacent blocks. Dimensions of vertical hollows correspond to dimensions of internal hollow of wall block. Connection of blocks is effected by pouring heat insulation mortar into one of hollows of upper row of blocks. After that, cycle of placing blocks is repeated. Wall block has work body with hollows in the form of external passage passing through all side faces over perimeter of block and internal through-hollow with ribs created inside internal hollow. Block is made of gypsum. Depth of passage in side faces adjacent to internal hollows is equal to half of width of internal hollow. Construction gypsum block and method for erection allows for increasing load-bearing capacity of blocks themselves at pouring and hardening of mortar and consequently load-bearing capacity of entire masonry with using it as load-bearing structures without need for strengthening of blocks.
