A temperature storage device (10) for use in a temperature controlled distribution system is removable from a load space, for example a vehicle interior, for recharging purposes. The device has an ice/water eutectic mixture to absorb extracted heat, a fan for assisting cooling of the interior and of the load space, and a refrigerant conduit for connection to an external refrigeration plant for recharging. A depleted temperature storage device (10) my be removed by a fork-lift truck. Leakproof valve couplings (16a,b) prevent refrigerant escaping from the refrigerant conduit. |
