A composition (I) comprises an aqueous dispersion of water-core lipid vesicles (II) where the aqueous phase of the dispersion contains at least one non-coated pigment (III) and (II) has a membrane formed from at least one ester of a fatty acid (IV). Also claimed are: (a) a method (V) of dispersing a powdery mineral filler and/or an organic filler in an oil-in-water dispersion of lipid vesicles, where the mixing of the filler and the dispersion of the vesicles is carried out with a high pressure homogeniser in one or several steps; (b) a method (VI) of preparing (I) comprising the mixing at room temperature of an aqueous suspension of at least one non-coated pigment with an oil-in-water dispersion of (II) by conventional homogenisation followed by homogenisation according to (V); (c) a cosmetic or dermatological composition (VII) comprising (I); and (d) a method of treating skin and/or the scalp comprising the application of (VII).
