PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in memory capacity and to enhance display quality by discriminating whether an input video signal is a moving picture or a still picture and performing dummy contour correction processing only when the input video signal is the moving picture. SOLUTION: An input video signal is discriminated as to whether it is the moving picture or the still picture by a video signal discriminating circuit 28 to generate a discrimination signal. In response to a selecting signal supplied from a control circuit 22, a signal changeover circuit 27 is selectively connected with a b-side terminal to supply a dummy contour correction pixel data outputted from a picture data processing circuit 23 to a frame memory 24 when the input video signal is the moving picture, and is connected with an a-side terminal or a c-side terminal to supply a pixel data outputted from an A/D converter 21 or a scanning line interpolation processing circuit 29 to the frame memory 24 when the input video signal is the still picture. In the frame memory 24, in response to a write control signal supplied from the control circuit 22, the pixel data supplied from the signal changeover circuit 27 is written in order. |
