PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a route guiding device capable of always displaying a direction of a destination upward on a screen for permitting to intuitively recognize the direction of the destination. SOLUTION: A map display control part creates a map of periphery of a current position J in a north-up map coordinate system based on map data, and then, determines an angleθof a direction to a destination M from the current position J with respect to the north. The map display control part rotates the map of the periphery of the current position J based on the obtained angleθof the destination M, creating a map where the direction of destination M comes upward on the display screen, setting a screen display range for the current position J to be displayed downward on the display screen, and displaying a map within the set display range on a picture display device. The map display control part can display a north-up mark on the screen. |
