The retainer (1) for a snow board boot comprises a base (2) which receives the boot sole. It also has a dorsal support (3) on which is supported the boot ankle. A portion of the heel support (11) extends from the base upwards and rearward from the device. The dorsal support part comprises relatively rigid top (13) and bottom (14) parts connected to the base. A deformable intermediate part (15) of the dorsal support is located between the top and bottom parts. This intermediate part enables the inclination of the top part relative to the bottom part in a direction transverse to the device. The intermediate part includes five ribs (21,22,23,24,25) which delimit spaces (26,27,28,29).
