The vehicle has a cockpit cross-strut, fixed by compensation wedges on either side. A wedge (9) is fastened to the associated holder section (8) of the strut (4) via a bearing unit (10,11). The bearing unit guides the wedge from an installation position into a functional position, in which it compensates for a tolerance between the strut and the side-carrier struts. The unit has a stop (12,13) to fix the wedge in installation position. The wedge has especially positively acting fixing elements (15) to secure its location in functional position.
