Bag stacking and unloading apparatus comprises a wicket conveyer having a plurality of pairs of projecting hollow pins, a stacking station wherein pairs of said pins are successively located for receiving bags, reciprocatory plunger means at said stacking station for impaling bags on the pair of pins instantaneously at said stacking station, an unloading station wherein a pair of pins extends into an unobstructed zone so that a stack of bags can be removed therefrom, and means for indexing said wicket conveyer to bring a stack of bags to said unloading station.
