The element, rated at 500w or more, is mineral insulated within an earthed metal sheath (1) and bent to a convenient shape. Its ends are brought together and fixed in an insulating support (2) within which they are connected to a flexible lead (4) approx. 2m long, terminating in a 3-pin plug (5). A handle (3) on the support allows the igniter to be safely manipulated as required.
