The present invention provides a method of inhibiting glucose metabolism deterioration in a mammal by administering a substituted aminopyrimidine having the Formula <CHEM> wherein R<1>, R<2>, and R<3> are, independently, hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, C1-C4 alkyl, or C3-C5-cycloalky; R<4> is hydrogen, formyl, acetyl, propionyl or butyryl; provided that R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are not all hydrogen at the same time; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof.e |
