The manufacture of salt petals from a brine saturated with sodium chloride, carried out in an unstirred medium comprises: evaporation of the brine, initiation of crystallisation at 50 - 80 degrees C over a time of 1 - 3 hours, recovery of the crystallised salt petals, which are allowed to drain over a period of 2 hour, drying of the petals at 30 - 50 degrees C over 18 - 30 hours. Also claimed, are the salt petal formations and the installation for effecting the process. |
